Fort Stanton Cave Calendars

During special exploration and survey trips into many remote sections of the cave, the FSCSP teams record their findings, carefully documenting the features relative to survey stations. The most interesting trips are often along the Snowy River Passage, and also include upper levels with significant examples of both gypsum and calcite formations. These trips are only made after any water flow has stopped for 8 weeks, which allows drying of the delicate calcite floor crystals. In the fall of most years, a careful selection from the 200 best photographs is made by the Calendar Team, and these photos are incorporated into a presentation calendar for the following year.

The calendars are published in 9 x 12 inch (removable ring-bound) sheets, suitable for framing or just hung on your wall. Each calendar features a split-page (12 x 18) map that is updated each year. A few extra calendars may still be available for the examples shown below.
